Residents of Toland Square: look out your window and you’ll see just how much of our green space will be taken up with the proposed developments.
Today we decided to help everyone get a sense of what the council is trying to do by marking out two of the new proposed buildings with tape – specifically crime scene tape because, frankly, it should be a crime to ruin a community space like this.
It’s one thing to glance at a tiny map on a PDF, quite another to see exactly how much of our communal space will be taken up by bricks and concrete. And we weren’t even able to show how high the proposed buildings will be.
As one resident who stuck his head out the window and asked what it was for, said: “I had no idea it was going to be this big. They can’t do that.” Well, they can and they will , unless you help us stop it.
